Well…I see my ‘offensive’ post has been removed. Looks like it wasn't Gus's fault after all pinkmel.... There once was a delicate flower who couldn’t stand rain, nor a shower S/he made a complaint through which s/he gained a delusional sense of ‘great power‘.... I'm sorry Picc. I removed a lot of posts in the early hours because i didn't know then what Jilona was objecting to. Your post went because you quoted Jilona's guest post - which was itself verging on a TOS violation....have i found that yet? Gus peppers his posts with German - foreign languages - regardless of content - are definitely a Proboards TOS violation. I have deleted the sparrow thread from the open board and put it in a safe place, clearly labelled for the attention of Proboards so they can judge it in context. I am not sure how the TOS stands on innuendo in combo with mentioning cyber names. I was once assured that is was OK to libel my jsg ID, CG because it was not a 'real' person. Gus's performance elsewhere, posting my private messages on other messageboards, in combination with putting this quiet little board in jeopardy by continuing to offend Jilona when she has made it clear she finds it disgusting, are the reasons he ID has been deleted. Coudn't you ask what Jil was specifically complaining about and whether it was worthy of complaint.
As for the German..I'm not clear on this. We're not allowed to use german because foreign languages may contain stuff that wouldn't go down well in english right?

I did mail Jil last night - I stayed up as late as my eyes would let me Daz - this morning she has confirmed Moto's suggestion that it was the sparrow thing.
Proboards admin can read any bit of the board at any time. Foreign languages are not allowed AT ALL.

melon is right, Daz. I have seen a board zapped because of foreign text on it before. Not because of its content or anything, but just becaue it's not English.
I believe they only allow common phrases known to brits. Things like "c'est la vie" (that's life)
It's a shame because gus has been informed of this more than once. Twice on JSG board by myself and one of the mods, and here by melon who reminded me and him in the "night, folks" thread

Yeah I'm aware of that.
I don't personally think Gus will mind leaving out long tracts of German..Achtung and Auf Wiedersen are about my limits anyway. And I wouldnt like to say Auf Wiedersein to anyone posting here at the moment. Incl. Gus.
Err..as usual I shall pass this problem onto Gargoyle and he will confer with me after an intensive inquiry...that in true Labour fashion will be published several years later and with no conclusions whatsoever.

I did mail Jil last night - I stayed up as late as my eyes would let me Daz - this morning she has confirmed Moto's suggestion that it was the sparrow thing. Proboards admin can read any bit of the board at any time. Foreign languages are not allowed AT ALL. The 'sparrow thing' was a storm in a teacup..the type of thing Kenneth Williams came up with in the 1950's. Even Mimi would be unlikely to pass out through shock at such feeble stuff. ...I shall pass the report on the 'Sparrows' to Gargoyle for his perusal and expert opinion. An announcement shall be made later....much later. |

Unfortunately the bod behind the cybername has reported us to Proboards. I don't think it was a TOS violation - and I am sure Craig's eyes would pop out of his head at the language used by some ladies! - but that is irrelevant. A complaint has been made and I am responsible for sorting it out. It will be ME they talk to not anyone else. |
