Billy Holiday was born today.. ..we'd expect to find water without the need to call in a Water Diviner not that I actually believe in Water Diviniing. Although I must admit a slight raise of the eyebrow when a van from the Water Board called at my next door neighbours. I waited to see just what high tech equipment was needed for the upcoming task only to bemused by the curious sight of the man walking up and down the garden with a divining rod. ........much to my relief he didn't start digging up the garden despite spending half an hour in deep discussion and pointing at a spot rather too close to my garden for comfort. And a good job too - I was just about to get a wire coathangar - to wrap round his neck!! The predominance of Water signs indicates a high sensitivity and an elevation of sentiment. Heart rules the head and emotions are lifes major driving force.

I'd forgotten all about this, Mimi..my quiz was a tad too difficult for the youngsters here but yes - you're right!
<cough> of course I don't remember him personally although I believe he was a very close friend of Dirks. I dunno..something about his face is unmistakably recognisable to me - a bit like Edith Sitwell.
..hmm oddly enough I had an obsession with the Sitwells, I used to read Osbert in particular avidly, and Sacheverell Sitwell. Similar to that some people have about the Bloomsbury Set or those other Sisters who's name escapes me..two were Nazis.

those other Sisters who's name escapes me..two were Nazis. The Mitfords? Diana Mitford had an affair with Oswald Mosley and was jailed during the war. Unity Mitford was friends with Hitler, and had a failed attempt at suicide. Jessica however, was a member of the Communist party. Oh, and Nancy wrote some books! (there might have been more of em as well, can't remember)
