There was very little to like about it, I agree. Its a big-budget turgey.
Perhaps deep frying it in batter like they are reputed to do with the eponymous bars in Scotland would improve it! It couldn't make it worse!

Yes. I agree. I was quite surprised to find "The wicker Man" was something of a cult classic. I thought it entirely unconvincing and astonishingly badly acted.
I did think the remake of "The day the Earth stood Still" was an improvement on the original although I enjoyed both. I was quite prepared to dislike it as I've seen too many bad remakes that make you wonder why they bother but life does surprise you sometimes.

The Blood on Satan's Claw is very good though. I've not seen the Day the World Stood Still remake.I saw a horrible Lady Vanishes remake last week though.
