Is our bellowed Nicola about to resign? I watched some of Salmond's evidence, a very measured and erudite speech and if only half of what he said is true then she will have to go. And I am not a particular fan of either of them.

Haven't followed this storm in a teacup.
Sturgeon seems to have her feet on the pedals though, which is more than you can say about our clueless Boris.

As for Nicola, I think she is hell bent on causing as much trouble as possible. Whether you agree with it or not, we have left the EU, and live in a democracy, yet she is determined to fly the EU flag on every public building. I would not object if she flew the Saltire, but do object to that. It may only be a symbol, but an important one. I like Scotland and most Scots and have spent many happy times working there, but the last time I was there a couple of years ago I was made, as an Englishman to feel very uncomfortable in some places, and not welcome. Similar in fact to the feelings one got in parts of Wales back in the early 70's when various groups were advocating independence and all else besides.

I suspect that the No 10 is determined to get rid of her, and Salmond is a convenient way of doing so.
Why? Because she is very likely to successfully take Scotland out of the UK and back into the EU.
I may be cynical, but you are certainly naive if this possibility hasn't occurred to you.

Not according to the polls. She has a very poor following on that one, and also for an independent Scotland.

You could well be right, but it is still below 50% and I thought they had said they needed a 2/3 majority to implement it.

Cheeky, given that we left the EU on barely more than 50% A two third majority by parliament is needed for constitutional change, but it seems a bare majority was good enough for Joe Public.
