Yes..I could have raided thee Fudge Factory (err.thats my weakness..fudge!). But in fact I was fairly confident of a negative result (which in actuality is a Positive Result! ). See I've never had a sweet tooth. So why would I get a high sugar reading? Its hard to say..I drink several cups of coffee but with two large spoons. Surely 4 swift mugs of coffee prior to an early morning Appt at the Surgery could have a drastic effect. Thats 8 large spoons of Sugar in 2 hours before the Blood Test. How much glucose is that? It would be interesting to know -truthfully! - just how much sweet stuff and sugar cubes go into the Coffeepot and Teapot for the people here. No-one I know acutally has the constant eating/snacking/junk food/sugar diet that is prevalent nowadays. I just do NOT consort with the type of people who walk around eating endless bags of Crisps. On the other hand..erm..<cough> alcohol is a diffrent thing altogether. Pics from 20 yrs ago show a lean but wiry whippet of a boy..this was acheived by my own special diet called the Alcoholics Diet. i.e. you drink so much you cant afford food and allied with a fast metabolism the cals in beer are soon washed out the t'other end. Then there is the Seafood Diet that some other prescribe to.. ..if they see food they eat it. ..........a bad joke but better than nowt. ..and NOW! ONTO THEE PEPPERMINT LOUNGE!

Oh dear Daz - are you going to have to do the injection thing....or just cut down on sugar. Alcohol is full of it.

Ah that reminds me...I haven't heard from the 'too much Iron' man. I don't think he's going to hear good news..its a precursor to Cirrhosis even if it was only slightly over like mine (err with sugar not iron). Its funny but the worst alcoholic I knew..i mean I could fill the place with anecdotes of how bad he was..well he was as slim as a pipe cleaner. In fact his nick was "Piccolo"..seems he was slim all over

No it wasnt..twas a strange pic though. Ustinov pulling an odd face..makes a change from reeling out yet another boring anecdote. The next is very hard..I'd take a stab at Grace Kelly.. the Cheesies are getting rather good at this.

I found out a few years ago that I was a diabetic and I was told by my Doctor that the sugar I add to my tea is not as bad for my system as the sugar that is produced by my body from starch in foods like bread, pasta, potatoes etc.
I have to take pills, twice a day to help keep my blood sugar under control, But I can really tell when I have been a "bad boy", I get very light headed, and easily distracted.

Oh I can live without tea but coffee...err did you REALLY say tea, Ella? I'm a coffee addict but it turned out to be a storm in a teacup. I was fairly sanguine about it until the word 'alcohol' cropped up. I can live without ost things...even food if need me..well I did once when stuck in Europe and out of pocket. I begged until the money rather tardily arrived from my ban in the UK..a week later . Those pennies I did manage to blag went on drink first and food second..until the last few days. Mind you I was semi-alcoholic at the time.
