Smoking Ban Does Not Effect The House Of CommonsIf that isn't an example of utter hypocrisy then I don't know what is. The real question is whether it is workable...it simply isn't. Most of the neighours smoke..if the guy next door smokes whilst mowing his lawn - which he always does. Am I supposed to arrest him. Manchester leads the Revolt as usual..well nr. Manchester as dammit. Protests over smoking ban in BoltonBy Jane Lavender SMOKERS held a last-gasp protest against new legislation - by lighting up en-masse in a town centre pub. Hundreds of people flocked to The Swan in Churchgate to join landlord Nick Hogan in voicing their objections at new laws which ban smoking in public places. Mr Hogan has vowed to openly defy the ban, claiming it is in an infringement on his customers' human rights. But although police were on hand in case of any public disturbance, council officers were not present and it is not yet known what action - if any - will be taken. Bolton Council said the demonstration at The Swan Hotel was "regrettable" but, remarkably, it added: "The landlord is entitled to hold a protest if he wishes." It has also said a "softly softly" approach to enforcing the smoking ban will be taken. Local authority chiefs are confident the ban will be self-policing and have vowed to remain "non-confrontational."

If you're going to protest - then you have to really go for it

This is a good reason.... www.bmj.com/archive/7070nd2.htm I’ve tripled my daily dose and will die a hero’s death (erm...soon, probably). Damn! I was on the verge of quitting. The sacrifices one has to make for democracy and freedom.

The coal miners were addicted to this as one can't light up down the mine. I spent well over 5 years on oil tankers and outside of the accommodation one of course could not smoke so on occasion I would take snuff. gus

///Do you smoke a.. cigarettes b.. a pipe c...happy weed d cigars////
Cigarettes and h-ha-happy weed (…the latter rarely - although Sands thinks I smoke it for breakfast every morning ;D). Occasionally smoked cigarillos, never cigars or pipe. But I /love/ the smell.
I heard that too about snuff. Time for a change, perhaps....

Well if you feel the need to put something up your nose it might as well be snuff rather than cocain (snow) I heard the other day that every other 10 pound note has traces of cocain on it, can it be true? gus

www.abc.net.au/science/news/stories/s890031.htm<<< Tests by the European Union on national currencies used prior to the introduction of the euro in 2002, showed the deutschemark had the third highest level of cocaine contamination behind the Spanish peseta and the Irish pound. An investigation in London in 1999 showed more than 99% of banknotes in circulation were tainted with the drug >>>

Huh! Don't /you/ start giving me lectures! I've had enough of that from Sands! ;D
////I heard the other day that every other 10 pound note has traces of cocain on it, can it be true?////
There was an article earlier this year saying that (following a study in Ireland) they found traces of coke on /every/ Euro note they tested (many had traces through contamination though).
