The granita served in cafés in Italy is made from frozen liquid coffee and the crushed ice is usually in much smaller pieces than your picture shows. The drink in the picture is an interesting colour so perhaps a dry martini frozen and then crushed would look like that. Which brings us to a frozen daiquiri, made of more interesting stuff than coffee. The first daiquiri I ever had was in Texas and I disposed of it very quickly. It was so delicious I asked for another. The bartender said disapprovingly: "You're supposed to drink them slowly." |
