Thanks Gus. It worked but when I tried to enter there was a message telling me I had already had my try and must wait until tomorrow. OK, I'll wait. I'm not much good at Scripture Knowledge and begats anyway. Oh, hang on a moment, it may be that my entry to the Cheese query earlier today counts as my one-a-day dose. Which means I have to log out of the other quiz. Too much bother. Thanks anyway. I owe you one. (One what? asks Gus nervously.) You can play both quizzes, mimi; it's a question of logging into each quiz, then playing, then logging out when you finish the quiz

Thanks Topsy and Bets, I'll try it and see if this quiz is less US-oriented than the Cheese's. Just waiting for a suitable moment.

i have gone for the more difficult levels on most things ...... because for some reason they seem easier than the easy levels

I notice that in quizzes. I think it is because 'easy' quizzes are simple memory tests of the kind of thing 'average' people are likely to know, whereas 'difficult' questions require working out - so anybody with a bit of sense can do them. I remember a school mate telling me that University level English Literature was easier than A level, which we knew was easier than O level (which we did not take but the thickoes did). The reason is that O level was questions of the "Who said what" variety that you either knew or did not, while A/O and A level were of the "What function might this Shakespearian character play?" and "What influence do you think contemporary politics played on the development of 20th century poetry?" kind (That was a really easy question in German!).
You could say anything you liked providing that it made a coherent case. I remember getting a mark so bad for a two-page essay saying the Fool drives King Lear madder than he started that I had to do it again and got one of my best marks ever (a marking system unique to Ronny Youngs, something like A+?+) for saying exactly the same over five pages of argument explaining how and why.

And the examiner may not even have read it all, but was impressed by your verbosity!

Betty, can we have (as on Cheese) a list of the previous day's players and their scores?
