And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world's watermelons should be taxed.
And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, (because he was of the house and lineage of David who, as everyone knew, grew the bestest ever watermelons) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and popped him in a watermelon, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and watermyrrhlon.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified ('cos they'd bin smokin weed ... and Herod was King of Prohibition). But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of a great Watermelon, so great that he will be for all the people. (Indeed, I have it on authority that in years to come he will grow so vast that no less than five thousand will be fed by him.)Today in the town of David a huge squash has been gently laid in the finest straw. He is the Melon Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a slightly sticky baby, encased in a holy melon nappy and lying in a manger.
