Taxpayers fund course to teach teens how to wear high heels to work


TEENAGE girls have been taught how to walk in high heels as part of a Government-funded college course.
The bizarre six-week 'Sexy Heels In The City' course was offered to 16-year-old students at South Thames College in South London.
It claims to prepare young women 'for the business world and their social lives' but has already been blasted as 'pointless' and 'a waste of time'.
The course is run by Chyna Whyne, a former backing singer, who claims her life was made a misery because she wasn't taught how to walk in high heels at a young age.
She said: 'At some point, girls from the age of 15 upwards will start wanting to wear high heels.
'The point, if it's going to happen, the earlier younger ladies learn how to walk in heels, the better it's going to be in the long run with business and social lives.
'The statistics of women with shoe-related injuries and foot problems are unbelievable high.'

i would like to point out that i think this article displays some much needed optimism....

that teens are actually getting to work in the City,
that retired backing singers are finding work, and
that 'unbelievable high' shoe related injuries and foot problems will be prevented.

- thus saving a money and time at hard pressed NHS hospitals.

On my travels I found references to Chyna Wyne and it seems she teaches some form of yoga. Given that my yoga teachers encourages us to walk flat footed, heels first, she might have done better teaching girls how to be sexy without resrting to stilletos.

I grudgingly admit that if women insist on wearing heels, they should walk properly in them - if indeed there is way t do so. But are they really necessary in order to look good?

i rather suspect that high heels may not be a requisite for any natural beauty - but for young girls weened on big macs who are trying to make it in The City, a push up bra, easily recognisable (straight men tend not to spend time scouring fashion mags) designer labels, and heels worn with aplomb might make all the difference....

BBC to send 400 staff to cover Glastonbury despite promise to make cuts

TV audiences for the four-day festival reach a fraction of the number achieved by other annual events such as Wimbledon, or one-off events such as the Olympics of the World Cup.
But incredibly the 415 people sent to staff the festival in 2009 was just 22 short of the total flown out to the Beijing Olympics.

these numbers are simply unjustifiable to the license fee payer and a respectable publicly funded organisation like the BBC wouldn't waste money for their own fun.

i think the bbc should sue for defamation.
