i thoroughly enjoyed both programs.
and to my surprise, the 'far left of old labour' mr bets positively demanded that we watch the 3rd instalment of Upstairs Downstairs.
what with all of us being down with the lurgy, tv watching has been the main feature of our yuletide.
our best game so far, in our befuddled condition, has been spotting our china in tv programs. so far, Poirot and Upstairs Downstairs.

;D There was a terrible low point at Harshly Hall one Christmas when we noticed that Dot Cotton had our pillowcases.

Actually, I haven't seen Upstairs Downstairs and there wasn't a button to click for only having seen Downton Abbey.
I loved Downton Abbey so much that I asked Father Christmas to bring me the boxed set of DVDs, which he did, and I've been watching it all over again this past week.
LMH, it's excellent. If you get a chance, do watch it. The acting is very good, the storyline is compelling and the dresses - oooo, the dresses! I want to live in 1912 - just so long as I could be rich.

But didn't you just love Matthew and didn't you want him to get together with Lady Mary?

A bit of a disappointment in the sack, wasn't he? Promised more than he could deliver, like all those Johnny foreigners.

Was she just a tad over-enthusiastic...or was he murdered? As the Glaswegians say. Either way, I agree, a thorough rotten double-stewed cad. An Englishman would have said, excuse me your Ladyship, I have a slight spot of indigestion. Or if it was really serious done what James Bond did in Casino Royale.
A bit of stirred but not shaken.

Maybe not technically, but he was the man, so it must have been. Isn't that how it works?

Really? I heard she was a bit of a tart who used to let unsuspecting houseguests sneak into her room at night and then fck them to death. Seems like quite a good reputation to me.
Tastes change, I suppose. Except for him. Very few people would ever sleep with him again, and he probably wouldn't have liked the ones who would.
Didn't think of that, did you? Heartless, you women.
