Lovely photos, PM. Please tell me about Yggdrasil. I saw it in an Agatha Christie novel, and thought she'd made it up, such is my ignorance What is it?, and what does it mean?, and other thoughtful, insightful, intelligent questions.

Mugshots - what a good idea Daz.
I suggest you start a thread on the pic board where everyone can post a shot of their favourite mug.

Yggdrasil is central to Norse myth - it is the world tree....i will try and find a link that will explain better - see what a crap witness i was!?

I had a call from a girlfriend last night who had seen an article in the Evening Standard re the courtcase - with the headline 'war veteran targeted by...' or something similar. She said it was very anti the defendants....so I must have said something right, and the lone teenage reporter (as with policemen they keep getting younger) must have been really on the ball to have picked up on my one mention of my father's having fought in WW2. It's made me feel better about things.

Yes
...i really pity them - the police were estimating a 5 week trial, but as i was only no.3 of 60 i think it could go on much longer. They seem to averaging 2 witnesses a day instead of the 5 or 6 they were planning on.

Well it was a smart move to have given her something to hang a good headline on. See you're a lot more savvy than you're making out. And as I told you, I think the vision of a slightly nervous and vulnerable person giving evidence would be a good way of swaying the Jury because being nervous is one thing thats very hard to fake. A lot of people can fake being calm and collected when they aren.t but not the other way around.

UMM...well i like to think i make a good stab at appearing calm and collected when I am actually wanting to run for the hills!
In this instance I think there was little doubt that I was nervous, flustered....and just a little bit indignant!
