i love watches, but i don't wear one and i don't often use a mobile phone.

the article omits to mention Radio 4 as a very effective timepiece.

Radio 4 is a dead loss when you're stuck in a long queue at Tesbury wondering whether you will make the library before it closes.

Half the time I leave my mobile phone at home, so that wouldn't be much use either.
