No doubt it's at least partly a PR exercise, but in the run up to the upcoming Irish General Election, one of the MPs is calling for a few women-only debates.
THE GREEN PARTY TD Mary White has called for television stations to hold women-only debates in the run-up to the election.
White is proposing that debates should be held between the leading female representatives of all the political parties.
"One in two voters in the elections will be women yet viewers will see hardly any female candidates on their TV screens during this campaign. All of the party leaders are men and therefore multiple debates with them are only going to make the problem worse."
