Don't get so sensitive Gus. Daz has apologised for any implied criticism of your mother.He didn't mean it as such. You know he didn't mean it as such. But please don't do the "If you say something I don't like I'm going" schtick. We all say (and by all I'm including you) things that people don't like in the heat of the posting. Smartass remarks are what MBs are all about for most of us (I explicitly exempt EMC and PJ who take much more care than most of us).
Just come back with another smartass remark and fuggedaboutid!

How about this one. Daz want's fooking with a giant leek. I have been insulted enough on this and various boards and I have done plenty of insulting. I just think it is below the belt to insult someones close relatives. A throw away remark about someone not having a father or such like said in jest one can overlook but a direct insult (YOUR his capitals) at someone I loved dearly who is now dead is as I said way below the belt. If Daz intends to carry on in this vein I think it will not be long before the receivers are checking the books again. gus |

I didn't realise you were such a sensitive flower, Gus. I'll pick you very gently in future. I have nothing against your Mother, which isn't surprising as I never had the pleausre of meeting her. I'm sure she was a fine woman who brought up an outstanding young man..your brother!  And I mean it, Maaaaaaaaaaaaan! |

If I may, my observation of what sandy is saying is that the money used for IVF may be spent irresponisbly, and that money raised by collecting taxes should be spent responsibly. There are better ways that those dollars could be spent. (was I off the mark, Sandy?) Enter my opinion again: While it is very tragic that people can't have babies, it is not the government's job to pay for IVF for everyone. I am actually surprised that it's paid for at all by governments in any country. I don't think that it's discrimination against the lower class. The fact is that in most societies the rich people get more in everything. It's not the government's job to right all the inequities of life in general. People may disagree, which is fine. I understand the view that it is the government's job to provide for all the people, I just don't agree with it. Oh no he didn't. Actually I am not sure what I did mean now. But IVF treatment, if it becomes a more common practise definitely WILL lead to population growth. That is undeniable. |
