My own true love has gone to a Frauen kegeln Verein (womens bowling club) which is ten pin bowling with nine pins, don't ask me how 'cos I don't know. All I hope it is not a hot bed of lesbianism.

My own true love has gone to a Frauen kegeln Verein (womens bowling club) which is ten pin bowling with nine pins, don't ask me how 'cos I don't know. All I hope it is not a hot bed of lesbianism. Nine-pin bowling is more complicated than 10-pin, so about what you’d expect from Germans, a matter of ‘why make it soft when it can be hard?’ And rightly so! It’s harder because (a) the lane is narrower, only about 1/3 the 10-pin lane width, (b) the ball is smaller, so less likely hit several pins, (c) the alignment of 9 pins isn’t so conducive to a ‘strike’ (i.e. all pins down) as in 10-pin, (d) the lane isn’t flat but cambered, i.e. it slopes to the edging channels. (this gives it an element of crown-green bowls, which we all know is more intricate than lawn bowls played in the South). The Germans also play many different games during an evening’s bowls, rather like UK darts’ players might do, rather than concentrate on just 301. Ten-pin doesn’t seem to have these alternatives. Lastly, an evening of women’s nine-pin bowling is an occasion for flirting. It’s a bit like a women’s darts’ team in the UK. The women are not interested in men while the match is on, but afterwards …

PJ Now I find I view her excuse that the match took longer than usuall a trifle suspect. Did you have to tell me this PJ gus

Today at München zoo on the banks of the Isar, saw two apes shagging and a mountain goat having it off with a tree stump. quite entertaining actually.

If your doing any fishing over there, make sure your tackles clean and in good working order. I've heard theres a lot of fish in the sea over there; and watch out for the barracudas, theyve got big teeth and arent afraid to use them.
