The Health Service in this country is desperately short of organ donors. In other countires - particularly religious ones - organ donation is virtually nonexistent. Every day children and adults with faulty organs die waiting for an organ transplant. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/5298646.stmThe link above over-rules the idea that parents or family can prevent their childrens organ being donated, even though they carry an organ donor card. The next step is the Govt suggesting we carry opt-out cards rather than opt-in. Should the State tell us what to do with our own bodies?

Organ donations do not work anyway. For example a transplanted kidney will last 5 years. It's all hype and no substance. If people realized the practical limitations of organ transplant surgery perhaps there would be less emotion and hot air on the subject.
[Jerrymac], Uckfield, United Kingdom Ermm..I think I'll stay here in future. Whats the money on him not waiting for a liver/kidney/heart transplant. Uckfield, Planet Zog, Mate!

You think the state doesn't already tell us what to do with our bodies? Now Fascist Blair wants the state to watch over us all from before birth as well. Good grief the man wants the state to monitor you (and no doubt tax you) while you are still a twinkle in your parent's eyes. Even Mussolini didn't go that far. I am not the kind of person who says 'I told you so' but didn't I tell you so? news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/5301824.stm

<< Families with drug and alcohol problems were being identified too late, said Mr Blair.
And there was a "pretty good chance" children of teenage mothers who were not in stable relationships would grow up in a "difficult set of circumstances" and develop behavioural problems. >>
More astonishing in depth quangos come up with conclusions from the University of Stating the Bleedin' Obvious!

More astonishing in depth quangos come up with conclusions from the University of Stating the Bleedin' Obvious! The way I see the state is getting more and more involved in matters that should not concern them. Crime yes, but bringing up baby no. I can hear people saying 'Ah but it is for the good of society. If people have nothing to hide they have nothing to fear'. We've all heard that one before from Big Brother Blair.
