I see that the latest member to join this board is fn, who i can tell you all who do not know her that she is a great poster., and that anyboard should feel proud to have her. I have'nt btw, had her i mean, just in case you may think that. But that is neither here nor there. What i find a little shall we say disquieting is the fact that she feels free to join this board, and as i have mentioned I am glad that she has so chosen, yet has banned a person on here on her own board who (I think) has the power to do the same. Does she not find this a little hypocritical.

Start the violins!
I'm not silly or undiplomatic enough to get myself banned from somewhere I want to stay. Both QQR and the other place Oldie Cheese had lost their interest by then. It was okay at the beginning with SM. LW, Dozer and particularly Critter because they were entertaining and opinionated. In fact Al in those days was very much a peripheral figure. I'm not having a go at him there but it was true, he was very much in the back ground. Once they left the novelty worse off so its fine by me..alls well that ends well.
The Oldie was a bit of a joke when it came to a subject of any seriousness. My only regret there is falling foul of Stevan because he's a livewire and an entertainer. I should have turned a blind eye to his espousal of communism and slightly oddball opinions. If he'd just stuck to laughs and was more easy going the dust would have settled. He's another one..once he leaves the place then its noticeably less interesting in his absence.
But dont get the violins out for me..I think it bothers CG a bit maybe but I've never had any inclination to rejoin any other boards at all, Gus.

Well maybe you are not bothered about being banned from a board but I am. I am not ashamed to say that I miss the Cheese. My only regret is that i fell foul of the mod there, and since then the writing has been on the wall for me. The funny thing is although I pointed out his unfairness in his treatment of me and his obvious favouritism for certain members he wasn't man enough to admit it. So what did he do, he pulled his whip out at every opportunity and a terrible sight that was. But joking aside it is plain to me that I was liked and despised in equal measures on that board but because and although he will deny it the mod was on the despisers side I was canned. But I mean for Gods sake what did I do? put the managers daughter in the family way, run off with the treasurers funds, run stark naked in the corridors. No, i posted a few posts that some and I stress the some posters objected to. I think it is about time these megalomaniac mods stepped back and gave a good long thunk about the powers they use. Sledgehammers and walnuts come to mind.

Why would you want to be a member of the sort of messageboard that would have you as a member? ;D I wouldn’t worry too much, though: I’m told that too much Cheese gives you nightmares.

Yes I understand the Groucho Marx quote, but it is galling when just because someone doesn't like you they stop you being a member, and going around screaming " I'm in charge" like Bruce Forsyth. Which is another reason I may have been dumped, I happend to say this on the board. ;D gus

Does she not find this a little hypocritical. gus Fairly good question Gus. I suppose i popped on to remove the notion that I fancied Al, which is elsewhere on the board. I didn't want to do it in guest mode, after the first post, because I recalled I've been accused of being people I'm not in the past, so having the id removes that perhaps? Daz actually isn't banned from qqr because with a proxy ip, it's pointless. He used to be but his name, id, ip and all that are no longer in the ban section of the board. I'm really over board stupidity. I like daz - we've swapped emails a few times since he was banned from qqr, about his laptop etc so we're not sworn enemies. Things just got to a head on qqr, that's all. I don't think Daz would return to qqr anyway, as he's stated as such here. I got the feeling he was happy with his own place, though I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong. Does that answer the question?

I must say that the mods on the cheese board were always very fair with me. And with the type of opinions I have and the tussles twixt me and A. N. other it's a wonder I can say this. So I am not going to slag off its mods. I left because I just got bored with the same old chasing of tails game.

Dunno about becoming more mellow. I was more interested in the people than any posts written, which maybe accounts for the interest in astrology. Dirk was interesting because he was so laidback as to be horizontal until it came to anything religious. So I was puzzled and I was interested that he was forced to go to Church etc..so there always a hidden agenda somewhere. Then to go to a Billy Graham convention suggests he's reaching out in some way. Nowadays I suspect the only time he reaches out is for yet another Cream cake! Sorry Cheesers and a Merry Christmas to you, one and all!
