When I get me Fish n' Chips I don't want some ugly bastard staring back at me, whether its Monkfish, Whitebait or something with an effin light on the end of an antannae! I want real white flakey fish such as Hake, Haddock or Cod - and maybe Carp

A monkfish is an ugly looking saltwater fish that is mostly a big head and a meaty tail. In Seattle, we run into the monkfish quite a bit. One is always on display at Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market, where the fishmongers pull a hidden string to give the tourists a scare.

Thats the downside. Fish does have a fishy taste oddly enough

The with scallops you have to pay over the odds just to get some vague salty seawater aftertaste. As for prawns, mussels and cockles etc..I don't get the point of them at all. Okay in a Fish Soup otherwise useless.

I love cod - but sometimes it has parasitic worms in the flesh - which is a bit of a turn-off.
