Just got my TV license bill (thanks to the tories). In paying over the internet I noticed a item which pointed out that I could get a 50% reduction if I were severely sight impaired.
Well, I am of course, but only in one eye through which I can see nothing, so 50% off seemed fair. I investigated further but found that this was NOT the case. 'Severely sight impaired' is a much more verbose way of saying 'blind' it seems, and you only get a 50% reduction if you can't see the bloody screen at all!
I'm (fairly) happy to accept that as I can see the screen I will have to pay the full amount, but it seems most unfair to charge 50% for those who cannot see it at all. ExCorpTM has been directed to investigate the production of radios (for which there is no license fee) that receive only TV sound channels in order to save these folk shelling out every year for a service they cannot receive. I expect I will be arrested for terrorism, or the even more heinous crime of "Doing things that the government prefers you didn't"
