Hopefully nobody here will contract this bloody disease, but there is a strategy which had occured to me, more as a joke than anything else to get a test done locally. But it was employed by a writer in today's Guardian. After being told he had to drive 100 miles for a test, he tried, at the suggestion of the nurse turning cars away, booking a test using a postcode 100 miles away. Bingo, it worked.
He was duly booked into the local test centre. The helpful nurse asked him what postcode he'd used, and went along the waiting cars suggesting they try that postcode!
The omnishambles rumbles on. We are now seeing daily new infeaction rates not seen since early May. Todays was 3991, and deaths (20 today) are going up too. Now who would have thought that? Perhaps deaths are related to the number of case in some way.

Crazi, isn't it? We have a huge new testing centre near us, but when someone about five miles away applied for a test he was sent to the next county. I passed the centre a couple of days ago and it is not busy; no sign of any queue.
