All the babblings I've heard about 'priority groups' seems pretty stupid to me so far. Those most vulnerable - it is assumed - should be prioritised and be the first to get thevaccine.
The aim of a vaccine program is to het the 'R' number down by as much as possible and as fast as possible. The old and sick are currently for the most part shielding, and are not therefore responsible for spreading the disease, so vaccinating them is not going to cut the disease much if at all.
The people who really need to receive the vaccine are those who are at schools and universities, shoppers, pub-goers and restaurant diners. The young and fit in other words who are actually the ones mixing and spreading the disease. If you can cut the 'R' number by such means, the old and vulnerable are protected too, and should be given the vaccine then before being allowed out of quarantine.
Isn't this commonsense?

It makes sense to me that key workers should be prioritised, and that seems to be what is happening. We can't afford to lose any more doctors and nurses, and if we immunise care workers they won't spread the virus to their elderly clients.
After that, I would give it to people in work, to keep the economy buzzing over.
