The Panorama program is a tiny part of the BBC, and Bashir only one person who once worked on it. Is this enough to justify the avalanche of sanctimonious cant we have been fed from a succession of dodgy tory cabinet ministers, or have they another motive?
What Bashir did seems to be on a par with many other journalistic stunts such as hacking the phones of bereaved relatives, phone tapping, constant harassment and intrusion by pretence, phone calls pretending to be from 'the council' in the hope of getting information from someone they've targeted etc. The list goes on and on. These often destroy lives and careers of quite decent individuals. I recall seeing a photoshopped pic of Corbyn reading a document which had been changed to an anti semitic propaganda sheet.
Nobody cares about this it seems. But involve a crazed royal being tricked into giving an interview which whatever the trickery used to get it consisted largely of the woman speaking her mind, and it suddenly becomes time to completely reorganise the whole of the BBC!
Given the dodgy cronyism that goes on in the tory party and the handing out of fat contracts to their mates, they are the last people to bang on about trickery.
