I had a small paint job to do so went to buy some white exterior gloss. I was a bit shocked to find 750ml cost £18, but it's been a long time since I've bought any so I coughed up.
The tin had the words "One coat, guaranteed!" prominently displayed on it and I thought "I bet! Heard that before!" but I'd primed the bare wood and was stunned to find it did indeed require only one coat. No undercoat is required! They have evidently improved paint beyond measure recently. I used very little of it too. It seems to cover better.
When we talk about 'technology' these days it always seems to be electronics, but in fact technology in areas like this is probably just as impressive. Looking at my work, I was pleased to see it lacked the usual drips and runs I have got used to seeing (I am no house painter!) so there has been an improvement there. Time will tell if it lasts I suppose. We shall see. I am impressed so far, howevrer.
