I've just watched a telly show called "Malice Aforethought". It was bloody excellent. Apparently it's based on a novel by Francis Iles, real name Anthony Berkeley Cox, who, so my google tells me, wrote lots of lovely murder mysteries in the 20s and 30s. I've never heard of the dood! Any of you old farts know his stuff? I think I may have to buy some

I read it when I was about tweve and it was one of the very first crime novels I ever read. Glad to know it is still current.

Well theres not much point in reading modern novels but there was an interesting adaptation of the classic Nicholas Nickleby over Christmas but it didn't seem to bear much resemblance to the book. Then again I haven't read it for 20 yrs but the happy ending stuck on the end wasn't quite how I recalled it.

I've just watched a telly show called "Malice Aforethought". It was bloody excellent. The title seems familiar - but not the author.....i like a good mystery so i'll keep an eye out for it.
