Lets be fair, anyone who plays even Rugby Union has to be fairly fearless. If your a Northerner you have to be made of Iron to play Rugby League as my Uncle did (he's now paying the price of old war wounds). A Rugby Union team would be like lambs to the slaughter against a RL team - ask any Aussie.
Anyway back to Bader..he made up a lot of the myths surrounding him. Nothing too bad about that but just a reminder to take most of what is written in History books and shown in British and US War films with a large pinch of salt.
btw.. as Tommy Docherty said when selling Wyn Davies.." the boy reminds me a lot of Douglas Bader...brave and skilled in the air but not so hot on the ground". ;D
