The very first link is a man whose only feeble claim to fame is that he was once given a lift in the world famous Dirk/Chris 'Scorpion' Hughes bubble car. Other than that he strums the guitar every once and a while. qprock.blogspot.com/

If Tamlin rides his pony in this direction I'd recommend the Downliners Sect off - chocoreve.blogspot.com/thats now..in 5 wks it'll be tucked away on pg.2. For some reason I've never taken to Van Morrison but theres lots of his stuff on there. Something about the stilted way of singing...god knows Listen I'm not Paul 'I'm a music critic' Morley..its either good, indifferent or sh!te!

Wasn't Alan Vega in Suicide? I think they sort of made a comeback, recently.
Incidentally, talking of weird, noisy art-rock bands from the seventies, there is an interview with Genesis P-Orridge (or Genesis Breyer P-Orridge as he/ she/ it calls himself/ herself/ itself, now). Very odd person, indeed and a bit scary, too, to be honest.

Yeah with Martin Rev..they were a bit before their time. A mix of Gene Vincent and synthesisers which was very original at the time but got them bottled offstage.
I like the echoey vocal on 'Lonely', Jukebox Baby rocks but the best as the bloke who wrote the intro says is Speedway.
ps. Porridge interview where. The guys bonkers of course.

I like the echoey vocal on 'Lonely', Jukebox Baby rocks but the best as the bloke who wrote the intro says is Speedway. Actually there are quite a few decent tunes on the first album: I quite like “Cheree”, “Frankie Teardrop”, “Rocket USA” and “Che”. A mix of Gene Vincent and synthesisers which was very original at the time but got them bottled offstage. Yes – there’s that 23 Minutes Over Brussels recording that is a bit fraught, to say the least. It’s only music: some people get so uptight. Now, bottling Ms Allen, I could understand, but two perfectly nice art-punk electro chaps? What’s the world coming to? ps. Porridge interview where. Oops, sorry, forgot to mention where. In This month’s issue of The Wire.

Cheree is a great track..neat zylophone motif and spooky vocals. But still prefer the solo LP featured above. Revs organ featured too often...he was very influential on Gus Disting in that regard ...at least he didnt sing about sausages.

Bike by May or May Not is a brilliant pop record in my 'umble opinion. May or May Not is also a good name for a band and gets rid of the current trend for naming bands with a K as in Kooks (yawn). shakeyourfist.blogspot.com/2006/09/childrens-games.htmlSee there is good music out there..or what I consoder to be good music. Modesty isnt a strong point
