Talking of Newsletters, I signed up for L.Taylors last week but haven't heard since Anyway this week it was a programme about the Sociology of Scandinavia. Was it boring? Yes it was. Were the Scandinavians boring? Yes. What was it like living under the perfect Socialist State System? Need I say...v.boring. What was the most noteworthy point made by our wonderful Socialist leaders. How about this to stick in Tony Benns pipe. Our wonderful left-wing state system has the most rigid immigration policy in Europe. In fact so harsh is it that it flouts UN deadlines. ..so much for the social state..corrupt, two faced, hypocritical and up in smoke just like Benns pipedreams.

I knew a Swede once. He wasn’t boring, as such. Just a bit miserable, most of the time. SADs, I reckon.

Its just a wild wild generalisation. It still doesnt mean its not boring even the programme about how boring it was was boring The naked ritual of going out into the forest and beating the body with briars may appeal to some people.

More Laurie Taylor in Scandinavia. The permissive liberal families had the most binge-drinkers whereas those that laid down laws on when to come home and how to behave had the least problems with alcoholic children. And it needs a sociological survey to discover that!

Commonsense is so under-rated.

Poor Laurie sounds surprised that a family that lays down laws and asks their child to tell them where she/he is and asks them to phone up has children who know how to moderate their drinking.
The liberal attitude of Scandinavia is now suffering a 'moral hangover' due to the fact that they have one of the worst child alcoholic rates in Europe.
Please Laurie stop sounding so astonished. Its embarrassing!

Poor Laurie is slowly coming round. He's realising that the wonderful liberation of free-thinking Scandinavia popular in the 60's (i'm sure you recall those lovely day, Dr.Taylor!) isn't so wonderful after all he ends with the a sudden jolt into the 'real world' normal people inhabit. The happy Socialist State existing in Scandinavia is merely 'a husK' masking huge socila problems. Can't help thinking you should have thought about that 40 yrs ago;) btw. i like the word 'husk'.

And no with extra TV bonus pack! Well I was watching the Michael George case for the defence and theres certainly a distinct lack of evidence and 'real' holes in the prosecution. I say 'real' because unlike the Sion Jenkins case where the bozo's on other boards swallowed the defence hook, line and sinker this was entirely convincing. And good luck, Sion with your 'unceasing fight to find the real killer of your step-daughter'. Presumably unceasing is a euphemism for the rest of eternity Oh well those are the Wheels of Justice, Melon. All I can say is..bloody good luck - you'll need it!!!!!!

<< blush >> err..why..I never did nuthin, Guvnor..I aint no tea leaf! Why don't you ask EMC to give a special plea for a non-custodial sentence. Preferably one where they can have the benefit of their own race-track for recreation and rehabilitation purposes. Go on, Mel, take mercy on the poor souls!
