Thanks Les. I see, Jean Jacques Perrey is there, too. Some intriguing, weirdo stuff. Good Find.

Thanks Les. I see, Jean Jacques Perrey is there, too. Some intriguing, weirdo stuff. Good Find. Intriguing weirdo stuff, Old Stick? Ah you mean the JSG forum. Poor show all round, frightfully boring and best left to the foreigners (or fuzzy wuzzies as they're called over there). In contrast, these tasteful morsels of pure kisch are gold dust, Wivens ..at last the Holy Grail of Les Baxter!

Quelle Surprise..some feedback from one of our newer members. Does this augur the beginning of a new Epiphany. Can't help feeling that Ann was helped by being there in person and heped by a certain charm of delivery. It not a contest though www.youtube.com/watch?v=50dzxkJa1NE&mode=related&search=..still it helps to have a good voice.

Eh…? Who said anything about ‘a contest‘? Chill man.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryLqfNwSSFE…and don’t forget to pass it over to Sands. He needs it more than anyone. Heard some of Neko Case’s stuff before but always found ‘something’ missing. Ani’s passion for a start.... “…tattoo on chest like the key to the puzzle of your pumping heart.” Btw ‘charm of delivery’ is a ’helping’ factor when used to cover-up the absence of talent - which /obviously/ doesn‘t apply in Ani‘s case. But it seems to be working for plenty of other ‘artists’.... ////While we're int YouTube, I've been saving this for you Daz.//// Were you among the audience Daz? I know - the one with the big tash.....?

Playing mainly modern stuff is a step in the right direction..I've always wanted young blood on here but young blood decided otherwise. Er..this sound more like CG's sort of thing (no not Leonard Cohen ). I like the bongo's on that otherwise fairly humdrum. I suppose Ole 'Bomber' Harris had to come back into fashion sooner or later! "..mm..nice..mmm Daz competitive. No way, Man."

////I like the bongo's on that otherwise fairly humdrum.//// Certainly not one of Ben Harper’s most impressive performances but it seems to have done the trick for Sands: “….don‘t knock it before you tried it” - and off he is on a weekends drug frenzy.... Anyway here is a balanced, non-vocal mix of ‘age and beauty’ for you. Can’t go wrong with Dominic Miller, Pino Palladino and Manu Katché.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWU2omQp8TY ////..this was how I met Darinka the Slovak Girl.//// Which one of them is Dara - the latest Screeching Weasel? I hope you realise you’ve only gone and ruined a promising career there by luring her away and onto this board.....

Clever bass playing and an interesting if empty display of excellence. Vair reminiscent of John McLaughlin..okay for 30 seconds, sleep inducing and more than tedious after 30 minutes when members of the audience either fall asleep or in my case make their excuses and leave. However as a youtube its pretty good (i.e. its short and you can see the fingering). If you're unfortunate enough to be in the audience its a nightmare as one watches the herd twitch their heads along to the sheer self indulgence of the music. Type of stuff right up Gargoyles alley - which isn't a place most of us would wish to go. What can I add...at least the musicians were enjoying themselves ;D No-one would have chosen that unless they actually were the bass player - which is unlikely - or a musician. When the people in the audience suggest someone is a musicians 'musician' you know you are about to enter a coma longer and deeper than that of thee Sleeping Beauty. ps. it was worthwhile for an ex-bass player if nothing else. At least Jack Bruce adds melody and vocals to thee mix. Jazz is a spent force - ask Dirk - so I'll show you how it should be done.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7qAP1GmU1sWho said you couldn't learn from your Elders.

////Who said you couldn't learn from your Elders.//// Like what? How to keep going despite having died at least 15 years ago....? www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYmCS41UYW8 Not sure whether the err artificial prolongation of life /by all means/ is something I fundamentally agree with. Time to take a bow Iggy. Jeezz you’re starting to give me nightmares. “Take your place with grace and then be on your way…” Now - back to the young blood....

Yes, it amazing how much difference a year makes. Right now its like having a slightly younger brother who tags along in a vaguely irritating way. Having said that I must admit your living up what Astrological precepts would have us believe. Now so far you've come up with three watchable songs that are pretty good without making one rush to the shops to buy their latest album (lol what an old fashioned concept - only Wivens is crazy enough to buy CD's...err..for the cover..hmm). Must admit you've done a sterling job of breathing some new air into the musky cobwebbed cellars that make up thee Musicke Librarie. Only Ella Noize (ex Grateful Dead roadie) has taken a passing interest before now). When I started this darn thang - owned by Americans as you can see! - it was out of default and I expected to draft lots of hep youngsters onto here and they would sit at thee feet of the Master whilst he taught them musicke and metaphysics. But err..that didn't go to plan. I think they started getting 'lives'..involving jobs and work and learning nonsense in an effort to gain a Psychology Degree (worthless in thee Real World)..whereupon presumably they'll return here to whine and moan and play Nirvana and Radiohead. Ah but thats for the future. Right now finding a music vid with a new band that would be deemed great, exciting and therefore overshadow previous examples has come to nought. I'm always tempted to be lazy and stick on Alex Harvey or some such charismatic figure rather than the very bland Indie stars you seem to enjoy. This is the best I can come up with so far...any old vid will do really..they're consistent rather than pyrotechnic. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSptPm1C1nM&mode=related&search=Enjoy everyone and don't be afraid to give a verdict.
