Have been out and about a bit today.... with only one CD in the car.
by chance it was the latest Snow Patrol...could have been worse
If you had to choose one CD for journey (NOW - not an all time fave or anything - just what you like today, this moment) What would it be?

Are home-assembled compilations allowed or is that not in the spirit of the thread?

Is a Woman by Lambchop which is probably the only cd I've lent out that everyone says 'is amazing'. Usually its the other way round.
Anything by John Martyn.

I love John Martyn but not for driving. I find my mind wandering too much.

Wivens - the spirit of the thread is whatever you want to make it...compilations are good - I like my own, and the eldest Melon is particularly good at making them for me.

Thanks, PM. In that case, what I do have in the car at the moment is a home made compilation (which I have mentioned in Madrigalman’s Rebellious Jukebox thread).

Well, I’d heartily recommend them, of course.
Madrigalman, however, may pour scorn on the idea of trusting too much in my recommendations.

His songs have tunes and melodies whilst Leonard Cohens have neither. And he can sing after a fashion. Also he's earthy and has no pretensions to be poetic which helps. He's the type of chap I'd be quite happy to commend to those people who complain why don't songs mean anything lyrically or are remotely tuneful. Not all his songs are ike that..he experiments a bit too much.
