Dispatches: Public Service, Private Profit8:00pm - 9:00pm Channel 4 This might have been one to watch! At least I've avoided throwing rotting veg and bad eggs at my own telly. I saw most of it. Yet again we are shown the spectacle of professional private companies running rings around hapless public sector managers and bosses. There is nothing really wrong with PFIs but that is assuming that the taxpayer will get value for money from contracts drawn up by government officials. Sadly though the level of incompetence in the public sector is such that it was like watching someone taking candy from a baby. But the really scandalous thing about all this is that Gordon Brown and his chums are quite happy for the burden of national debt to grow to massive proportions in the future as long as it does not impact on his short term performance. The country is already going to have to pay back billions of pounds in the next thirty years when Brown will be long gone. I have said it before and I will say it again, this country is being run by crooks who only worry about winning the next rigged election, while the country can go screw itself. And the British people are so apathetic and ignorant that they can't even work this out.
