some months ago where I live in Chesterfield, we received a visit from prince Edward, of course the usual banalities were wheeled out and a tremendous fuss was made. Well it seems it is to happen again in a village called Ashover not far from here and everyone except me is exited. Prince Charles and his horse faced bride are to visit. "It means a tremendous lot to us" spouted one worthy. "we are delighted" gushed another. As long as I live i will never understand this English obsession with royalty.

So you're being stalked by the nobs are you? Well not really, but i wish someone could explain to me how royalty is held with such awe and reverence in England. Other european nations also have royalty , but they seem to avoid the knee bending, forelock tugging sycophancy that the English seem to excel in. gus

I can't remember the last time I gave my forelock a tug. Mind you we don't get Royalty much around these parts.
She did once go to a council house to have a cup of tea. You couldn't drag her out she was so busy gossiping about the influx of immigrants. She doesnt get out much so the security have to almost carry her out of the sitting room.
It was sad really - she was screaming 'One hasn't seen the end of Coronation Street!'

Well for 3 days we are and then things will go back to normal I predict.

Gus wonders why people go on so much about royalty and Daz wonders why people go on so much about cricket.
Lads, you are the ones bringing up the subjects.

Cheers Daz, and thanks for the picture although it did bring back some rather unpleasant memories. "You look cold" she said, "Let's get you nearer the fire" she said.
