news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/5387062.stmThank god we don't allow gun-ownership here. And before anyone talks twaddle about there being more illegal guns than ever on the streets. Then stick this in yer pipe. At least they're busy shooting themselves and not taking them to school. If the Americans want to keep their guns then good for them. The UK is a different cilture and an entirely different country - we don't want to be armed. No guns in England - we want our kids free to go to school without being mown down by gun happy idiots!

Actually that actually happened at my school. One lad had bought a scouting knife and was showing it off and someone made a daft comment about him not being able to use it. Anyway he received a small leg wound. It can't have been too serious because someone brought the school matron and then one of the teachers drove him to casualty lol! THANK GOD HE DIDNT BRING A BLOODY GUN!!!

i don't know how many hand guns and rifles are in private hands in the USA but it must run to millions. Why would anyone want to own one of these unless he wants to commit a crime or shoot some poor defenceless animal. it beats me.

Guns are tools for killing, but they can defend as well. Just depends who has more conviction when it comes to pulling the trigger.

Yeah right on, the "make my day" culture of a zillion Hollywood films where unless there is plenty of shagging, plenty of shooting and killing, and a petro-chemical explosion at the end, all the dorks will not pay to see it, the same dorks i presume who buy the guns. gus

Well I understand its written in the constitution and that in many Cities there is less crime in the US than there is here and so on. I think its a case of two different cultures really and its too late to turn back the clock in the US. Also its a more individualistic country. If someone steps on your property then they're in big trouble if your armed and they are up to no good. Nevertheless I'm glad they don't bring guns to school over here. Of course up in the Adirondacks there are coyotes and I'm sure if Gus stumbled up them thar hills he'd get run outta town too!
