Here is a link to a fine example of the sort of delicious, clever, funny, good-natured thread that the old BBC Word of Mouth board did so well: www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio4/NF2766781?thread=6261160My thanks to Nick for locating it. (That he thinks there was anything in it that could possibly have turned me against him only goes to show that he's completely lost any sense of humour he ever had.)

I've told you why I think that. A few days after this you started to respond to any post I made with personal insults - your now standard "arrogant" "pompous" "you know less than you think you do" arsenal of rational debate. All on your "delicious, clever, funny, good-natured" WoM board. But as I said, if that just happened to be a peculiar coincidence, then the explanation must lie elsewhere. Perhaps you're just volatile and capriciously rude by nature.
As for WoM - anyone who cares to look for a more balanced experience of what that board was typically like, I suggest they attempt to endure the other thread I linked to. Here is a more representative example of the genuinely pompous, pedantic, insulting, peacock-fanning cock-crowing that was actually the hallmark of that board.

... the explanation must lie elsewhere. It does. Maybe so. But you were in there fanning your peacock tail with the best of them. To anyone else reading - it's all archived, so anyone who wants to can browse the entire board. But read this one thread. Please.

I get our lass's sister to translate and Latin (or Greek) that I come across (in MR James, say). My own translations would probably be worse than Billy Bunter's (Sec Modern education: she went to the school I would have gone to if I'd taken/passed the 11 plus. Well, she went to the girls' version, at least).

Lots of the thread was quite sub-Grammar School, aubs.
Like this - we couldn't post links like this over there, but I can here:
