Suppose you had a time machine and could go back in time and change history just the once. What would you do?
Would you assassinate Hitler, Mohammad or George Bush?
Or would you do sumthin else?
And if so would your meddling make things better or worse?
Or is this too thought provoking for a Monday morning?

Killing people is a little drastic - how about going back in time to make sure they were given the right kinda lovin' - the kind that would make them content not to be megalomaniac loonies?

I've always wanted to go back to the 17th century. Some people claim I already have but I've knocked that in the head. The Alchemy/Astrology thing alienated too many members. I've thought this through and I'd like a nice loacation so I've chosen Venice specifically in the Renaissance Period circa the time when Michelangelo and Lenardo Da Vinci were at their peak. I reckon I could teach 'em a few things. Not so much Artistic although I'll show them an unmade bed and say "that Lenny is Art..got that!! Now Mich..you go trot off and get me a cow. I'm gonna cut it in half and put it in a glass case. Then I'd tell Lenny the correct way to build helicopters, parchutes, hot air balloons and Automobiles. (I'll take a few books for that obviously).

Well you wouldnt have "Muslim nutters" if you'd shot him dead. ps. you could go back and shoot Hedwigs Great-Grandparents then she'd vanish and there would be no dead body. The Perfect Murder, Gus. At least her Grandparents were Great!! Praise indeed.

If I had a time machine and could go back in time and change history just the once, I think I'd prevent Noah from taking two of every insect. Yeah. At least till I come up with something better.

In Germany where the religions Protestant and Catholic are divided by North and South the south being mostly Catholic gets three more holidays than up north. The atheists enjoy them too I believe gus

Maybe killing Hitler wouldn't have made much difference. If the theory that he was helped to power by the big economic forces hidden from general view is true, then they would have found someone else with the same magnetic message. In the early 1930s Germany needed someone to voice the opinions of a large slice of the population.

I think six million Jews might have argued that point.
Actually far more devastation was created in Germany after WW2. But this didn't lead to another Hitler. Economic forces are largely controlled by politicians. So what Germany needed after WW1 was not a tyrant but a decent economist in power.

Hamburg and especially Berlin where not black they were as red as a raspberry. gus
