I don't wish to sound petty but the big babies are the ones who refuse to adhere to the rules of the game, which they accepted before running onto the pitch. The main purpose, I believe, in trying to keep a steady ship is to stop it being capsized as happened in the past. It is very easy to slag off the 'referee' but without a referee there wouldn't be a game at all, proboards would cause the match to be abandoned. Why I think this board has little need for referees is because the posters are not committing fouls every five minutes and so the game is allowed to flow. But it only needs one ugly player to upset the whole team. Clearly this board doesn't have any (although there are several who indulge in some dirty tackles from time to time, myself included) and hopefully will continue to do so. I'll get me flak-jacket. ;D Actually that article from Wivens was very good. I thought Bywaters was a Guardian writer but nevertheless it made some good points. Gus does provide some entertainment value though. Anyone who suggests doing away with taxation but charging 50% Vat on all goods has some fairly eccentric ideas. Its brilliant. We'll all be very rich - just as long as we dont ever buy anything! ;D Think about it. The ones who are not being taxed will have money, people buy when they have money or haven't you noticed Silas daz Scrooge ;D gus

The answer is much more simple, cross Nanny TC at your peril, you can see that by the way he refuses to post as a normal member but wants to exercise his powers by strutting round the classroom wielding the cane. gus I don't think you are an ugly player at all Gus. Neither do I think Chelsea, Daz or Gargs are. I enjoy all your posts. But then again I don't have to monitor them to see if people go too far. That's why I don't complain. I am happy to abide by the rules as long as I can have my say. I sometimes even enjoy the challenge of wording my posts to get my message across without losing my rag. It can be a great test of self-control at times. But in the end the message comes across far more powerfully than when you lose your temper. Plus going into long rants just puts a lot of the old dears off. So what's the point, if nobody reads what you say?

Plus going into long rants just puts a lot of the old dears off. So what's the point, if nobody reads what you say? Well Gargs can be quite ugly. CG occasionally drives me to the point of sheer fury with her insistence that I am other people who I don't know ..I can see how anything I write can be construed as a rant. I just write extemporaneously and exactly whats in my mind ..in other words 'thee Truth' and hold back on nothing. Basically because I don't care or give a darn/it. Even Exco said 'calm down' or words to that effect. Although to be honest I never lose my rag and was barely ever moderated on the BBC boards which are 'supposed' to be heavily moderated. Its possibly a cultural thing. I don't mind calling Exco a deluded person who looks upon the Workers as if living in the 1930's and a person who deliberately skews and distorts figures at every opportunity because - ITS TRUE!I wouldn't waste time on someone like that, just as I wouldn't with Arena because in his own words he's finally admitted he hasn't got a clue what happens 'over here' - obviously Sandy is a far more patient person than I am. I've been wondering for ages how some cafe owner puttering around France for decades can say anything authoritative about the state of the country. France - fair enough, but nowt here. And as for the Women..dont get me started...grrr!..Sue and her 'what about the poor backgrounds of the murderers' whimpering to be followed by the utterly absurd waste of space Hedwig haughtily pronouncing that she visits Murderers in Prisons and 'we' are lucky not to be ensconced there ourselves. The sheer -effin - gall of it. Err..yeah..well you speak for yerself, Sweetie!
