Somewhere around zero under a bright blue sky and we can see the snow on the Pyrenees. This requires Calvados with the coffee.

Do you have a view of Mullaghcleevaun?
It has the edge on the Pyrenees. Less people have heard of it, seen it, know where it is or can spell it.
And today no doubt it will freeze your bollocks off. Well not you personally LMH, but you get my drift.

Not only can I not see the Wicklow Mountains from here but I've never heard of Mullaghmahoniewhatsit, Jonjel - I am ashamed. Have you been there, then? I might have been there without realising it. I had a traumatic teenagedom involving much cycling and hiking up various hills and mountains (including a particularly feverish climb up to the highest point on the Isle of Man, whereupon we discovered a tram/railway and took it back downhill). A lot of those hills were in Wicklow & beautiful views don't always make up for the near-death experience of reaching them. Still, it kept me away from drugs and boys and whatnot. Until I was old enough to leave the Girl Guides. Bloody Lady Baden-Powell.

Bloody Lady Baden-Powell. No. Absolutely NO NO NO. This is not the thread, nor the board, on which to confess to murder Markham-Harshly.dear me. what is the statute of limitations on this kind of girl guide mishap? will the Madrigal insurance be enough to begin to cover your legal fees? fret not. there will be food parcels.

Indeed I have been there, and a rare and rather beautiful place. You can actually sit awhile at the top and guess what, you will be on your own! (and you probably could see it, but for the houses in between!) But back to the topic. -6 here this morning, and blessed with a stunning sunrise. Ducks skating as usual. I must remember not to chuck their grain on the ice just for fun......

Boring we may be, but:
-9 here this morning with the ice too thick to break in a hurry for the ducks, so buckets filled from the house as the oputside taps are frozen.
Later methinks it will be time to tackle the North face of the Aga....

Does he have a duck house bought on expenses?
(If so, how do I get one?)
