1 in 5 of the indigenous population want to leave the Country due to Tax. Council Taxes are soaring, 20 per cent of what you're paying goes into Council pensions. Gas Bills, Water bills and Electricity Bills are rising and not only that but the oiley creep named Gordon Brown has gone even further in conning the electorate. Check the bills again. There's an extra amount paid on the money due to VAT going straight into his coffers.
As with the Inheritance Tax they have the brass neck not only to INCREASE taxes but they make you pay Tax on the Tax! You are paying Tax on money you have already been taxed on!
Whilst the poor are entering the country enjoying the fruits of this tax all the rich wealthy contributors are leaving to go abroad mainly to Australia and France (where all the Cheeseheads and Renegades live). The rats and mice are leaving a sinking ship but whilst we are left paying the price for this crap Govt that lot of champagne socialists like FN, Exco and Arena voted for in the first place.
Mad Daz = Common Sense.
..............there should be a Flat Tax for all!

VAT is an EU tax and drawn up in such an incompetent way that is easy for criminals to fiddle (maybe that is why it was done this way). This is called carousel fraud (you can google it if you wish). It has already cost the British taxpayer £30billion. It works so easily because when you bill someone in Eurodisneyland there is NO VAT to pay. So we end up with goods (sometimes even non-existent goods) going in and out of the country with clever people trousering the VAT. It is far too clever for someone like me to explain exactly how it is done though.
There is only one honest tax and that is income tax. A flat tax on income is a much better, cheaper and easier tax to collect. It is less easy to fiddle. If you start the flat tax at about £15,000 you already take huge swathes of people out of the tax system and free up the useless tossers in government to concentrate on the rich buggers who routinely evade tax.
Let's face it folks, if both Maddy and me agree on something, it JUST has to be right.

I have been wanting to come out of the closet for ages now but I have no idea why I am in here ;D Btw when I say only a VAT tax I am of course talking say 40% on all items like white goods, electronics, cars, jewelry etc. There would be none or very little on essential items such as food clothing ( purchased on the high street not by Fashion designers) school equipment etc. This would stop the silly working class buying "things" and getting into debt. The middle classes and wannabes with a bob or two would have a bob or three and would still buy the Miele washing machine, the Gaggia coffee maker and the odd Porsche. gus

I was interested to hear that mad old bat Sandy Bruce Lockhart* on PM earlier, suggesting an extra tax on tourists, despite the fact that the UK is one of the most expensive country's to visit as it is!
My old mantra: More tax on those leaving the country to be spent on subsidies for those who want to stay and enjoy!
*I lived in Kent, SBL absolutely mad, never did a lot of good for the place either - You only have to look at the lack of investment - through his tenure - in East Kent to see how good he was for the county!

Not long ago I had reason to look up comparative road tax rates for normal car owners in the UK and on the Continent, and I was surprised to see road tax in the UK is about twice that in other parts of Western Europe. I suppose when you think of how roads in the UK are kept in mint condition and investment in the UK road network keeps congestion to a minimum, you can’t complain.
During the same exercise I noticed how comparative car insurance rates are about 60% higher in the UK than on the Continent. I suppose when you think of how people in the UK earn about 60% more than their counterparts in other parts of Western Europe and have a fixation about insurance, you can’t complain.

Sarky.
But to be fair, abroad they do charge people for using the motorways (tolls, etc) whereas in good ol' Briatin we don't (apart from that new M6 stretch that no bugger uses).
So JF pays less car tax and can drive here for nothing, whereas we pay more tax and then have to pay extra when we take the car abroad.

I have not the slightest idea what people are charged for auto road tax in say Spain , Denmark or the Nethelands, but I will bet my bottom dollar that the northern European ones have one more in common with Germany than Britain. In Britain road tax is £110 for cars up to 1600cc and £175 for cars over this. Thats it no more no less. In Germany on the other hand one pays according to the exhaust emmisions and size of the engine. I pay with a Euro 2 4000cc car €7.36 per 100cc I am lousy at maths but I work this out at ca £200 per year. On the other hand if I had a small car same Euro 2 norm with a 1100cc I would pay ca 60£ per year. Diesels btw are double these figures but diesel at the pumps in Germany is a quarter less than the petrol prices. I would also argue the case about your insurance claims. I have checked here and with the same car I would pay roughly a third less that I pay with my German insurer. gus
