Its interesting that its only Talk Radio that has given the true story on the parents giving their kids 'Fish n' Chips' they say that the food isn't filling enough and come home hungry and that they are 'forced to eat' the food given and that its often merely a salad rather than a 'proper meal''.
I'd suggest fresh vegetables are a proper meal but I'm against demonising these Mothers because experience tells us that kids - and I ate fish n chips EVERY dinnertime - take dinner times very seriously.
The real shocker - totally ignored by the media and BBC - is that because of the exigencies of time and teaching they HAVE to eat dinner at 11 a.m. in the morning. I find that baffling.
The so-called 'Fast food Mums' are making a strong defence of their actions. I was initially against their fight against school dinners but now I'm hearing the fuller picture its maybe time for a rethink.

Yes I heard one woman saying that the meals provided are not just burgers and chips but jacket potatos, sandwiches and fruit juices.
Not for the first time, Mad, we appear to be on the same wavelength.
It makes you wonder why anyone would expect kids would want to eat a meal at 11.00 am. I reckon the main reason why the women are there is the rip-off prices that the schools charge. But that's the state for you. Of course there will be many kids there who will be getting free meals but that just forces the prices up for all the others.
