He's English.
I'm guessing its a male and the face looks anglais working class. If people do cover versions then he's well into middle age. Probably a rocker rather than a sensitive singer-songwriter.
Hmm..the cover versions have stumped me. Cover versions are always worse than the originals unless the vocalists warblings are not easy on the ear.

We wouldn't put it past Bob Dylan to have given this world such a piece. Yet somehow we think Bob would have put more brown into it.
It's just a bit too good to be someone in a boy band, we were wondering about Robbie Williams (self portrait - it has a feel of self portrait) or Gary Barlow (real life son of Ken Barlow, the clue's in the name) for a while. Then we realised we were stupid.
At the moment we are toying with Billy Idol. He loves it.

I dont think this is as much a game as an opportunity for Kip to sit back smugly, puffing a large cigar, whilst we make complete fools of ourselves.
The only person known for having cover version of his songs over here is Reg Presley. He's a bit of a straw sucker from the Andover Home for Inbreeding..actually looking at the painting it could possibly be something churned out at a Mental Hospital Art Therapy Class.

Now now ... you wouldn't be trying to 'draw' me into 20 questions, would you?
You have chanced upon some interesting asumptions.... and I will say that English isn't one of them.
SUGARCUBES: We wouldn't put it past Bob Dylan to have given this world such a piece. Yet somehow we think Bob would have put more brown into it. I will give a sop to the other guessers and say that we're not in Boy Band territory.
DAZZ ANGELO: I dont think this is as much a game as an opportunity for Kip to sit back smugly, puffing a large cigar, whilst we make complete fools of ourselves.
That's not going to get you free clues now, is it? Anyway, a small Cigarillo does for me, usually ( Sandy...roll me one of your joints, would you?) Nobody is a fool in "Rock around the Load of Old Quock" - the game for all the family!

It is not this Reg person. --------------
Ok .... Looking at this 'work' one can see a distinct lack of care. Is this person someone who doesn't exactly always 'makes an effort' ? There's certainly a mixture of styles which happens when you've been around long enough to collect them. In the end, this is a very singualr work - with limited, although present, surrounding support.

You’re doing this deliberately, Kip, aren’t you!
Picking ‘wannabes’ to make the choice as wide as possible....
My first thought too was Robbie Williams, but then…I wouldn’t think him ‘competent’ enough of even that standard of ‘art’.
And - 'not boy band related', not English.....
So no, not Robbie Williams. <phew>
Choice # 2: Madonna.
She’s an art collector (‘snatching up’ Kahlos, one by one), oh yeah, and a ‘writer’. But does she painted herself? Dunno.
And again - lack of cover versions (…unless I missed something of great importance?).
The ‘moody’ mixture of ‘styles’ to covering up incompetence (and depth) fits though, and so does ‘performer’.
I must admit I've been known to dance to Madonna songs...
Well….you can’t be choosy when you’re danceholic.
Whoops, Sands, there it is again…..addiction. Is there /anything/ pleasurable that I’m not addicted to!
Nope. Can’t think of anything. ;D
Anyway, back to the drawing board....

Oh, I think painting is incompetent ... not that necessarily stretches to thier prime occupation. However, some might say, that as an instrumentalist, they are nothing to write home about.

What? And I was convinced it was a female artist this time.....
I have to start from scratch now.
Thanks a bunch - another sleepless night ahead......

Aha! So we get a point for that at least!
Heidi says Woody Guthrie but she doesn't even know who he is. Amelle says Bruce Springsteen but none of us know anyone who's done a cover of his stuff. Hey girls, we could do one, in a duet with Tom Jones, a quartet, even. Great, that's a nother million in the bank.
I, Keisha, the only original one in the band in more ways than one, say Art Garfunkel or Paul Simon. Based on the fact that there was a picture of Art earlier. And that's Bluesky Thinking for you.

What do we have 'ere then ? Well, it's a mixture of styles - either deliberate or because the the "artist" is plain lazy and/or incompetent. Falling between several stools (usually a favourite trick of Oliver Reed) of cartoon , mock Picasso (blue and cubist periods) & Philip Guston they make a good job of coming up with bad Art soup. The ears are a nice example of acting up, as modern artiste, ... but not getting the basic point that you cannot simply slap styles on a canvas, depending what mood you're in that hour. The nose is just a frustrated smudge to try and get away with the fact there was no idea behind any of it, really. The colours are jolly, though - nice to see the person didn't think they had to paint every bit of canvas, just 'cos they'd bought the pots/had some left on the brush. This dauber is a songwriter and performer. Many folks like to take the songs and do a cover version. The person is still alive. ----------------------- GUESSES WELCOME AND ENCOURAGEDaway you go.... Is it me? I'm reading to find out if I ever wrote a song. My SongPage 32, I did, it was later covered by the Beatles.

WAYNE: "Is it me?"
Sorry to say, it is not. If your hands were as magic as your feet, it might've been.
PICCANUMBER: "You’re doing this deliberately, Kip, aren’t you! Picking ‘wannabes’ to make the choice as wide as possible...."
Au contrare, this old fellow is a king (to some)
"What? And I was convinced it was a female artist this time....."
I purposely use neutral terms ... you imagined the busty associations.
Barry Manilow?
You're aiming for a Yellow Card, Mr. Piccy,...
anyway ...TIMES UP !----------------------------

I have to declare a technical winner to be.... SUGARBABES. ;D They mentioned BOB DYLAN ...and were making some of the right noises close by. It is the decision of the Judges (Me and Robin) that SUGARBABES be awarded the prize , partially because we were getting bored with the pathetic detective work of persons, who will remain annonymous. Note -- Just saying "coulda bin" and "might be so & so" will not count as a winning entry in future competitions. Please mark your ballot papers clearly. ------------------------ SUGARBABES win a free telephone call to a Dylan fan chosen by The Management. During the call, they will be entertained by recounting of every lyric ever written by the wrinkled old scrotum - delivered in a distinctive Dylan "voice". ---------------------- It was all there for you to get the answer, wasn't it folks ? : not English not a great instrumentalist is a singular character - not known for his band Songs are covered (worldwide, by many many) he doesn't make much of an effort ( to gig, to put on a 'show') he's taken on some styles (folk, rock, indi, etc) "Cover versions are always worse than the originals unless the vocalist's warblings are not easy on the ear" - said the Sugars.... which must sum up the World of Dylan ------------------------------ Puff .. Puff

Can someone please get cereal and come up with a new game.
Whatever happened to that film game? I loved that, even though Billy cheated by posting pics that never resembled the film in any way.
