So much crime activity in Gotham, that I cannot get much screen time in.
This week I was able to catch a Military History program (called ...er... Battles and Stuff, i think)
It was hosted by Peter Snow and Henry "Hoorah" Snow, his son.
These two are certainly peas-in-a-pod, as they both earnestly bark at the camera in the same way. The program is very interesting, because every battle consists of Generals or Admirals "girding their troops". Sometimes the commanders have "plans" and sometimes they have "challenges". Once all the preparations have been described by the Snowmen, we have the excitement of hearing Peter say "and then it was War!" or sometimes "..and then battle commenced".
It would be difficult going to dinner with the Snowmen, as I would guess the pepper/salt/cutlery on the table will always be requisitioned to map out classic battles... with Peter shouting "War" at the waiters.
There was no Swingometer in this program. I think it has been locked away by the crew.
War ! (...sorry , it's infectious)

There was a visit to Moreton Hall by David Dimbleby...it was owned by one William Marlowe Moreton according the frontispiece. I have a photo somewhere.
I only mention it because that was the name of my Grandfather. However he was an itinerant gambler who managed to lose much wealth and leave us in paupery. No-one has yet found a genealogical linkage..it tailed off due to embarrassment of his brother running off with a Canal gypsy. A one legged great aunt with a wooden leg came into the equation somewhere..plus other skeletons in the closet too frightful to shed light on here.
I believe the family tree got much worse and was soon cut down and used as timber to avoid further shame being heaped on the family name.

I saw 20 minutes of a program on the Wye Valley. It was loveley. There were Sheep Farmers, Fishermen, the Peopel that look after the river, Cider makers and lovely Bee keepers (and Bees). The Wye Valley is very nice.
I saw 3 minutes of News - Mr Sargozy was drunk at the G8. He had been drinking lots of vodka with Mr Putin. They are both Presidents and they had boozed it up in a Presidential manner.

Its not really a good idea for a teetotaler is it? And I thought our politicians were nuts.

Special Presidential Vodka is probably just short of BatMobile fuel.
Just the stuff you get in people's homes is enough to de scale a kettle ( although it's not rough ... the best is super smooth oily)
Silly old Mr Sargozy didn't spot that old diplomatic switcheroo.
Salut !
....and... er ...War ! (dammit)

No TV yesterday . Evening appointments, in the rain, nixed box time.
Did anyone else see something wonderful. Like an advert for insurance, or something?

Plenty of adverts for bank loans followed by some for debt counselling. How surprising?
And some to ask for £3 a month to help an African orphan.
What they don't tell you is that when he grows up, has ten kids and pegs it you will have to fork out for them as well.

Woah Sands! I want like your new house! Can I come over for a glass of wi.... cup of tea some time? <…and claim squatters rights> I promise I won’t smoke! <not initially anyway> And don’t invite Kip over! He only wants your house! And, I'm warning you, with his superpowers he’ll get it.... <before I do> Anyway - should you suddenly become scared of heights, here is an alternative… www.earthship.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=14&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0Talking of nice places.... www.druidstone.co.uk/It rains through the roof in the bar (and yes, it does rain often enough....), it’s not ‘classy’, but it’s a fab place - summer and winter, NO MATTER WHAT WEATHER, alright! The food is lovely too, and so is the staff (...okay, I know some of them… ;D)

Thanks ever so much but I'll stick to my tree where I can look down on everybody.
I am not called the exalted one for nothing.
No I have to pay good money for the privilege.
