Thank god I read that again..I thought it said 'you were now looking for an eskimo'. It says a lot that I didnt even raise an eyebrow. Anyway I joined the same agency and I'm just perusing the photo's. I asked for someone with a 'lively bubbly personality' because er..opposites attract..and she asked me to choose the most acceptable passport photo. Thank christ for top row, 3rd from left.

He's arrived! You should never have followed Mr. Magoos map directions, Gus. It just proves Sandy was right all along ... you've always been an Inuit!

I insisted that Mel wore my birthday present of a tasteful green hat to the party. It a talking point..a nice way to break the ice methinks - such as 'why the hell are you wearing a silly green hat!?!'

Funny you should mention that because I am sure i read that America has one of the worst human rights records in the world. But we will not let that get in the way of one of sandys stock answers will we. gus . Yes America is so bad millions of people are flocking there to be victimised. I didn't realise there were so many masochists in the world, Gus. www.nationmaster.com/graph/imm_for_pop-immigration-foreign-populationNow where is China or Cuba on the list? CUBAN IMMIGRATION STATS: Net migration rate: 1.57 Refugees: 1,100 Refugees (per capita): 0.0969419 per 1,000 people Refugees > Outflow: 20,000 Refugees > Outflow (per capita): 1.76258 per 1,000 people Seems like far more people want to leave than enter. Why is that? Americas embrgo on Cuba, just a thought sandy. Btw have you given some thought to why BIG america would want to place embargos on a poor little country like Cuba. Surely it is not that they are afraid that Cuba would become rich and successful and a show piece for Middle and South America. Nah, surely not. gus

Thanks for the hat Daz - i wore it to the cinema and ate my popcorn out of it. Loved Casino Royale btw. Its probably better in a cinema actually. I don't care for computerised whizz bang technical things..or elves, fairies and vampire bats swooping around - unless theyre done very very badly. Anyway as long as you enjoyed it

Surely it is not that they are afraid that Cuba would become rich and successful and a show piece for Middle and South America. Nah, surely not. gus So what you are saying is that because America is so succesful in having a proper economic system, while Cuba are clearly incapable of managing their own resources (a factor that exists in all wannabee communist countries) without sponging off America, the US should feed the mouth that wants to bite them? Would you feed a dog that was wanting to rip you apart, Gus? The US have no problem with other countries being successful. What they are not keen on is some tinpot dictator trying to export his abysmal record of human rights on them. Why is that so hard for you to accept? Are you happy that Castro persecutes the blacks, trades unionists and homosexuals? Do you want that in the USA as well? Should Britain have aided Adolf Hitler and traded with him while he was busy exterminating Jews? I don't think so. And do you really think you would be able to criticise Castro in Cuba as safely as you can criticise Bush in America? Do you know what freedom is, Gus?

"Do you know what freedom is, Gus?"
Isn't that the thing nice Mr Blair is asking us to give up our liberty for?

<< Are you happy that Castro persecutes the blacks, trades unionists and homosexuals? >>
I don't know enough about Cuba to comment but again I have little doubt that you are totally correct, Sandy because no nation is perfect despite the odd garblings I'm listening to now from George Galloway - or Tony Benn/Foot and other rather deluded Utopians.
If you listen long enough to people like Benn and Galloway they're myopia and ability to turn a blind eye to the blatantly obvious is astounding.
Galloway is a joke. have a 'maximum wage' so that no-one can profit. In other words a watered down version of Communism. Not a mention of the utterly obvious fact that every investor from around the globe would take their business elsewhere leaving us like a Third World Country with no-one able to afford anything whatsoever.
The Devil is in the detail. Tony Benns constant hounding of the Pirate ships wasnt quite as trivial and easily dismissed as you think, Sandy. The was Socialist Totalitarianism in power. Benn makes some reasonable points about the Monarchy and other easy targets..similar to Fox hunting really..but if you look closely its remarkable how breaht-takingly naive these left wing Old Socialists actually are.
Lets us take Galloway as an example. He has got one or two things right and keeps harping on about them, although he's less keen to talk about hailing Saddam as 'a great leader' (he wants to airrbrush that out of course). Heres a perfect example of exactly why the man is a self-important pompous hypocrite who - like all Socialists - only matches sheer hypocrisy with an equally childlike naiveity.
He keeps going on and on about Blair taking freebies with..well for some reason he keeps mentioning 'a Bisexual Priestess'..what bisexual/homesexual/lesbian has got to do with anything is up to whatever garbage is in Galloways mind.
Yet on the same programme someone mentioned Tommy Sheridan, the left wing socialist 'firebrand' and hails him as 'a Great leader'. Oh hang on theres an even greater plaudit ..'A Scottish MP who deserves the epithet of 'mini-George' (err..some slight Megalomania showing there Galloway!).
Well heres news to you Galloway. You 'pal' mini-George is the most decieving MP i've ever come across - and thats saying something!. He's lied, lied and lied (in the witness box with his hand on the Bible).
Now okay..you're going to say..but he's not been convicted (yet). Well theres an appeal coming up. WATCH THIS SPACE!

Happy new one folks. I have been rather busy gardning ( ha ha ) I saw tee shirt today that said "all Gods creatures have their place.... next to the potatoes and gravy. If you come to the States on no account unless you are downtown in a large city even begin to think about walking, there are no bloody pavements, and trying to cross a six lane highway is I should think about the same risk as carrying a sign saying I am a sunni in a shiite district in Bagdad,
