////Here’s another painting by a (former) rock star////
Does 'former' mean 'retired'....or dead? Or both....

Nope: Dazza's right. It's Don Van Vliet - Captain Beefheart.
I obviously made it too easy.

Captain Beefheart ?? Blimey ... One down for Dazz Von Dauber, my mistake ! Well done Dazz, I say. The painting was totally, totally horrible, btw. It wasn't even upto Album cover standards. It had absolutely nothing to offer, at all, on any level. Apalling.

Well you say..truly horrible but his work has become extremely valuable. In fact a lot more lucrative than his music. Do people really know what they're talking about? Anyway with that hanging in the air rather than in an Art Gallery heres another daubing by a Rock guitarist who spent much of his youth at Art College. In other words...rock musicians aren't keen on working for a living. Its not something I'd care to live with. It seems a bit more professional and not so much an amateur work you'd do in your spare time between rock tours. Perhaps he even has serious aspirations to be an artist but decided to forego the penury of life in a garret for the limelight of stardom.

Dazz Christies: "Well you say..truly horrible but his work has become extremely valuable. In fact a lot more lucrative than his music. Do people really know what they're talking about?" Mmmm - we can always make a mistake ( well, I can't ...but you know how the market can be ....dahlinks) but Van Rental's work ( in the example) is without even the sarcasm of the truly untalented. It fails at every turn - only a blind and mad dealer swould've taken on the work...or someone who had a mind to hang "Rawk Star" on the press sheets...shame on him/her !! ------------------ Dazz's New Challenge Ah , mm, well, is it photo-montage? or are they small drawings that have been torn out and montaged? Either way ... it obviously has architectural reference (note to budding artists: if it looks like something to the audience - then it is that something. Do not complain about mis-interpretation, if you're simply not interested in 'controlling' your audience - real artists do...) but it can also be interpreted as skeletal/human Skull + backbone oooo, I took 2 pretentious pills instead of one, this morning ! Could be interesting "in the flesh" I suppose ... but it looks student-y, anyhow. Er.... is it ...er.. like, the Police bloke guitarist? Andy summat?

I'm trying to give Piccolo and Mel a shot at the title. With Mels love of art galleries I was hoping for some insight into this garbage. No idea what that is..is it Cubism, Mel? Mel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! btw. Kip, keep away from the trivia quiz - esp. Music..god knows how Gargs knows about Metallica and other wretched bands but I'm almost proud not to know anything whatsoever about them.
