Hello, my name is Daz. And this is a record from a band that have been going since Daz was wee boyo. Its by Vic Goddard, one of the few people to give up pop stardom for a long and successful career as a postman. His band was known as the Subway Sect..although Subway Sex sounds slightly better or it did..in those days. Here is Vic and Subway Sect with some of his latest offerings. Hope you like. profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=50253721

His influences are top notch....
Influences Cream, Chicken Shack - mostly the Imagination Lady album... a masterpiece - , The Beatles, The Kinks - Ray Davies, Hawkwind, Amon Düül 2, Led Zeppelin, Gong, The Groundhogs, The Yardbirds, Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd, The Pink Fairies, Van der Graaf Generator.
Sadly his singing fails to live up to expectations.
Sounds a bit like a quieter Hawkwind..I wish the Vocalist would stop trying to sing..well just stop completely really.

Whoops - sorry. Forgot to warn everybody tempted to click on the link to put their sun glasses on first. Ear plugs would help as well.

Its was mainly for Wivens who is an avid Gong fan!
Actually I quite like that track and some very cheap album they but out for 40p or something..nice to see some hippy credentials put into practice. Although some would say it was only WORTH 40p in the first place!
And Naomi myspace..err she seems to have covered the waterfront as far as music goes..I see her fave bands are listed from A to Z..
My guess> - a very obsessed Father!

Always good to hear some Gong, Daz. I know we weren’t meant to like dr. belvedere, Piccione, but I thought that his version of “Femme Fatale” actually worked quite well in that lounge sort of style. The vocals reminded me a little of Loraine Bowen, whom you’d probably not be very keen on. Bex Marshall reminded me a little of Danielle Dax (particularly "Big Hollow Man"), only a bit more mainstream.

Thanks for the D Dax link Wivens. Can’t quite see the similarity (yet - will keep trying) but I liked it anyway. Speaking of similarities.... I love this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4OM_QEtPXcTook me a while to figure out what it reminded me of.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ7On6dCpgg PS: You are very welcome to the Doc's Femme Fatal. I certainly don't want her ;D
