Israile 2 Russia 1 Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky Lucky old Baldy bolox - he , and his bunch of pationless money-grubbers get one more chance at playing some grow-up football on Wednesday. Could be a change for the btter .... Baldy might have to play ... ohh Sir! ....someone who's young, untried and proud to play for his country. Doubt it though. Wheel on Wright-Philips ... dribble;feint;dribble;feint;swing;kick.... and he's converted the try ! There's always FrankL to dig us out ...even from 50metres he can blast one into the floodlights. Baldy looked haunted in Austria... ;D I enjoyed this game. Yes baldy was lucky this time but then again when he is unlucky you don't say 'unlucky unlucky unclucky unducky 'do you, kip? It is possible that England could now go on to win the European whatsits. Wouldn't that be odd?

Er..looking not quite so far into the future, who exactly are the chosen strike force...Heskey or Crouch...or..I'm struggling already..Pennant? Shaun Wright-Philips? Who said a strike force was necessary...how about 5-5-1 formation to stifle the whole thing and force a draw. That sounds very English somehow. btw. no more gloating about the Scots. You can go 'a roamin in the gloamin' but no gloatin at the goalie.

Completely unpronouncable name Gabriel Agbonlahor GA-BRI-EL, I think. Crouch is quite good. At least he is not injured every week. But that's probably because he can't get a game at Liverpool. ;D

Crouchy has become ore attractive recently ...I think he's gained a little more control over his feet... but, he's not one for changing an attack
Baldy wil have a stress fit tryig to get the draw against Croatia ... although e shoud be able to scrape up a team to do it ... high dram is aout the only thing to get an English player away from his shopping trips, these days.
Still, all the same ... can't wait for him to be sacked at the suitably convenient moment ( just pre Christmas?) for both sides.
I wonder what stops him playing Penant ( is he Welsh?) and whtever happened to the youthful promise of Walcott - same as Lennon, I spose.

doesn't matter if you think Footie is over hyped insignificance or not ... it's quite a night
what a shame for Beckham as he leaves the pitch .. his England career is over ( doesn't have to be, but it is) just when he was looking forward to breaking a 100 caps in the Summer ...and getting a few top games in a big Compo during a Euro break.
McClaren .. I'm serious here ... has probably given himself near heart failure - certainly his body and psyche have been through immense damage this evening. His career is also shot ... years of living it up with the England support system .: best facilties; best of everything...top of the "game'" - ALL THAT is over ...he will not even get club management.
Venables .... nothing will come , ever again .. that's the end of the (falsely) long run he had - the old villain.
Sol Campbell - end Gerrard - probably the end of England top compo games Lampard - end Ferdinand - probably the end of top compo (shame) Wright-Phillips - end Robinson - end Wayne Bridge - end Phil Neville - never began and... Crouch ... he's 26 ... best he can do is play in another Euro at 28+ ... doubtful
Gordon Brown will rue (sp?) this day as well .... stock market will fall tomorrow and the Winter of discontent has the England team supplying the cherry on top of the stale cake.
Roll on the Olympic Debacle !

Well the best team won so err..its simply means that the Euro Cup is a meaningless tournament of passing interest purely fdor the more discerning viewer. We were never going to win the thing.
I'm feeling smug as usual..lol..I said from the start McClaren was a duffer. The goalie was a man I've never even heard of but noted that he looked scared to death and even managed to throw his spare gloves over the crossbar. A huge blunder to even pick him for the banch. Beckham should have been picked simply because he's the only person who can pass a ball. But we are a god awful team anyway and unbearably tedious to watch.
To sum things up..they (I refuse to say we!) got what they deserved - nothing.

Peter Crouch played his ussual excellent game but he looked lonely out there. Beckham should have been played in the first half. He and Crouch might have done more together, and he always seems to pull things together. The real prob seems to be that England is not a team. Croatia is.

Not just a bad day for Football but a bad day for Pizzology. Thee oven was out of action so unable for a consultation that way. I had to rely on Piers Corbyn for a prediction. I see that Baldy has now been scalped. And about time. The FA chiefs should get the sack for picking this duffer in the first place. But just like the government they will not see themselves guilty in any shape or form. I could have kept goal better than the one they picked. The first rule of goalkeeping is get your body behind the ball. When you think of it England have lost qualification through two appalling goalkeeping mistakes. It is time to get a decent manager. I believe, unlike Kipper, we DO have the players. They just need the right manager, the right tactics and a boot up the ass for the players before they play.

He and Crouch might have done more together, and he always seems to pull things together. The real prob seems to be that England is not a team. Croatia is. Thats an excellent assessment for a Woman. As I recall it the choice boiled down to McClaren and Martin O'Neill with the latter possessing a far superior management record. So the FA chose the former. We have to get rid of the FA for as start..for the same reasons Kip gives for our bureaucratic incompetence. Originality and talent is steamrollered by faceless apparachics who merely follow the party line. As always the majority hold sway - a bit similar to BBC boards actually. The banal view always wins out in the end. The Manager always carrys the can, whatever the paucity of his workforce, he has not only chosen his preferred players but has also given them strict instruction. The only person left in the Christendom who somehow finds cause to disagree with this credo is Exco. According to his expert analysis, its all the fault of the ball-boy! Now even as a fledgling under the wing of Sir Alex I'd never really found his that inspiring or enthusiastic. In essence he was basically a trainer who was brought in as 3rd or 4th choice...we can see a pattern emerging here already! His first decision was applauded as decisive and one of vision ( haven't we heard that before from a fellow Scottish leader?). He made the courageous decision to get rid of our BEST PLAYER. Now far be it from me to blow my own trumpet. A rare pic of Daz MadrigalI'm far too 'umble a man to shout my numerous 100% correct judgements from the Madrigal rooftops but the immediate dismissal of Beckham was the perfect example of a weak man making a strong gesture (again we have parallels with fellow Scots). It was doomed to failure. What sense is there in getting rid of the ONE player who can score vital goals. Who can take free kicks, corners and all set pieces and most importantly can pass the ball. As a footballer he is head and shoulders above the likes of Steve Gerrard and Frank Lampard. Therefore we have to ask ourselves..in what way is it helpful to quietly inform the best player in the team that to pack his bags and go gently into retirement. It was a mistake of MASSIVE proportions! In fact he should have been sacked on the spot for that alone. Yet somehow he managed to turn things around..almost entirely due to said Beckham (a much maligned man - but a man only maligned by the feeble minded). He did this by making a grovelling apology (again we see parallells with selfsame leader in the news). Now to compound his earlier mistake he unbelievably repeated the same mistake. He left his best player out of the team! Again he somewhat gingerly - thats a gag! - wheeled him back on when we were losing. In short..he admits his error once again. This man likes to repeat his mistakes over and over again. And yet again Beckham pulls them out of the fire and they immediately transform the score from 2-0 to 2-2. It would be entirely impossible to come up with less inspiring Leader than Gordon Brown. Compared to Brown, even John Major appears to possess the charisma and sex appeal of a young Elvis Presley in his pomp. ..yet somehow, in Steve McClaren we managed it. Sadly he didn't manage anything..and probably never will (likewise Gordon Brown). On a lighter not..the Madrigal F.A. Board have cogitated, ruminated and eaten all the pies! Three puffs have emerged (having jumped a merchant ship docked at the M'cr Ship Canal). I think I can say with certain authority that with the exception of Exco..who's under the delusion that Red Ken is exciting!...we can all speak as one to welcome our new England Manager. Cometh thee Hour, Cometh thee Man! ;D

The Manager always carrys the can
Unless he is a manager of the UK government in which case he blames the boot boy. Even blatant own goals (like losing discs) do not force resignation.

Scot Carson and Scot Brown have a lot in common.
Both are new to the job and neither have a safe pair of hands.
