looks like becoming the leader of the Labour Party, or does he. I am hearing quite a lot of froth about Alan Johnson. On the face of it he seems an ideal Labour man. Sad upbringing, poor as a church mouse until he rose in the ranks as a leader in the Unions. But and it is for me a big but, he was the only Union leader to vote for dumping Clause Four for which Our Tone promptly rewarded him by offering him the safe Labour seat of Hull West. Not to be trusted imo.

You mean he's just like the rest of them?
Gorblimey said before Labour came to power in 1997 that he would make sure pensions were safe.
In 1997 Britain had the best pension prospects in West Europe. Now it has probably the worst.

If I met Gordon Brown on the street I'd give him a chainsaw tell him to run around with it and make another sequel to 'Chainsaw Massacre'.
Having said that I made a blunder when I ruled him out of the leadership contest. Despite virtually the entire Labour Party desperately trying to get rid of him, its just like a Stephen King film..the man keeps getting up and lurching around with an axe in his head. You could blow his head of with dynamite and he'd still climb on a soapbox and tell everyone he's the next P.M.
The real blunder though was that I forgot that the rest of the candidates were completly useless. As for your choice, Sandy, some insignificant bloke called Allen Roberts who used to be a Postman - he found his true vocation from the start. Putting letters through postboxes is about all the guy is fit for. Potential Prime Minister?!!
Your 'avin a larf, mate! ;D

Boris said that the next PM should be called Johnson. But I doubt he was referring to Alan Johnson.
I see that twit Harriet Harman is saying that the next Deputy PM should be a woman. Three guesses as to what sex she is.
Maybe she should be saying that the next Deputy PM should have the initials HH as there haven't been many with those initials before. Just to be on the safe side.
It seems the days when people were chosen for their ability have long gone. We will soon be having Huntley standing for Parliament, as murdering bastards (if you exclude Tony Blair) are under-represented.
Bah Humbug!

I don't understand the new Ageism at all.
Look, on one hand we are all living to an older age yet when it ocmes to Politics we are choosing young and younger leaders. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Even the JSG place was gong on about the Liberal leader being too old.
He isn't too old at all, he's just too flamin' boring.

Wether he's boring or not as fook all to do with running the country and doing the right things. Or are you another one that wants some twerp because he takes a good photo and when asked a question blathers on for 10 minutes and at the end of it has still not answered it. Boring or looking like the Hunchback of Notre Damm matters not one jot to me if he delivers that which he/she has promises gus

The trouble is some gullible people continue to vote for a party that has NOT delivered its promises.
Blair said that the country needed open government with no sleaze.
And we got secret peerages for loans. The country has been lied to from day one.
Even Cherie Blair admits it.
Bah humbug!

Remember when everyone was hailing the new Messiah ( Blair) when New Labour came to power. Now it is that creep David Cameron that is making all the blue rinses go weak at the knees. Menzies Campbell would make a good leader of the country but with most of the population wanting someone under 40 and with wavy hair he don't stand much chance. gus

Despite Brown being the clear favourite all my money would have gone on him not being elected. He isn't wanted. Not only by his Party but by the Electorate. He has been promised the vacancy but promises mean nothing in Politics.

I'm still not convinced about Brown. John Reid could still sneak up on the rails.

What this country needs is someone with real Labour values, Old Labour in other words without the barminess that was attached to it. Prescott btw is a lying weasel so he's out. its a pity Ming don't swap to Labour ;D

I couldn't believe my ears when a 'friend' of Cherie Blairs said she did NOT shout 'Thats a Lie!'..but 'Can I get by!'.
Whats worse is that the lumpen proletariat fall for this rubbish. Thankfully I'm not on those boards anymore ;D

The sooner Labour start returning to Old Labour values the sooner they will get their useless arses kicked out of government.
