I don't smoke Darinka, so i don't have a lot of interest in the price, but I notice that a lot of men do in the Ukraine, but i never saw a woman smoking on the street. When I asked my girl friend about this she said it is because only prostitutes do this and that is how the men distinguish the chaff from the wheat if that is the right metaphor. I really admire the woman in Ukraine, the poverty, the men's terrible addiction to alcohol. the sheer adversity of living without the benefits that women in the west take for granted, it blew my mind. God bless them all. I will certainly be going back. gus once my friend told me that she didnt smoke while she was walking, because her boyfriend told her that prostitutes do it. also i heard it manytimes from other people. i like my cigarette while i am drinking a coffee. so better in my kitchen in the morning with another "co-smoker". Well I expect the likes of Jilona, Anna and OP on JSG are fuming with rage to hear such sense. They feel that if men do it why should'nt they which of course is totally wrong because which men want their woman to act the same as a prostitute except maybe in bed? I feel the same way about fish net stockings. gus

I always thought that men smoking on the streets meant they were prostitutes. Luckily, some were. That is how I met my third husband... ...and, no, it wasn't the smoking that killed him. I see that it wasn't the cough that carried him off, it was the coffin they carried him off in ;D Btw what happend to the other two? gus

I've never seen the point of smoking outdoors..it's the ultimate humiliation which is precisely why they do it...you can't fully taste the cigarette with a force 6 gale blowing in yer face. Its bleedin' obvious! Of course Dockers used to smoke outdooras hence the Dockers grip of thumb and fore finger which is thee 'manly way' of holding a fag..if there is a manly way of holding fags, American Friends The main problemo with that method is nicotine stains...I soon learnt that in Mancland..oddly enough despite smoking 20 a day I dont have yellow teeth. If anyone can explain this fact - insults accepted gracefully - then I'd be pleased to know. Aye thank you!

I think I need to acquaint you with both history and geography, Gus. The 1939 war was in Europe not in America. America stepped in when attacked by Japan in 1941. So you blame America when they didn't step in over Germany and you blame them when they DO step in over Iraq. Can't you make your sodding mind up, Gus? I do not deny that the war was started by Britain in 1939 but you do realise it was known as the phoney war, why? 'cos bugger all happend that's why. The REAL fighting was between Germany and the Soviets and the Yanks and Brits in their nice uniforms. and ice cream after dinner, and the batman washing up afterwards everything tickety boo, home fires burning, stout chaps. jolly good what. is not REALLY war is it? If you think otherwise count the German and Soviet dead both military and civilian then come back and tell me about the fun and games the Yanks and the Brits had in WW2. gus You forget the Battle of Britain Gus. If the cowardly appeasers had had their way in the 30s (as you wish them to have now) Britain would have LOST this aerial battle and we would have lost many millions more lives when Germnay invaded us, and in 1939 RUSSIA was an ALLY of Germany. <<< On September 19, 1939, the Red Army also marched into Poland, also taking Poland by surprise as the Poles originally thought they were a relief force. The day after Russia entered Poland, Warsaw surrendered under massive bombardment. At the same time, Germany and Russia signed a peace treaty allotting the Polish land between them. >>> Phoney war Gus? What about the phoney peace by two nasty countries?

I suppose i would rather be laughed with than at, I mean who wouldn't but both are better than being cried over. Do you remember when i first joined JSG PM. I had hardly opened my mouth when a right winger without the slightest provocation called me Comrade implying that I have communist sympathies. I retaliated by calling him Gauleiter implying that he had Nazi sympathies and all hell broke loose. The gang of four and their minions printed obscene drawings with my name on called me every derogatory name they could find in the dictionary and you want me to go back for some more of their nasty small minded victimisation knowing they are backed by the mods. puh leeeze!!! gus Well its more of an ebb and flow now, at least during the day. Six months ago it was completely racist BNP oriented but now - thanks a little to me but more to others it has more balance. The debates to soon revert to name calling though...I dont mind that but you've got to make an intelligent point if you are going to call someone otherwise its playground stuff. Take it on the chin, Gus, and give it em back! Too right.

And now there are some fog duckers in Britain who want us to be as defenceless as Poland was in 1939. Who needs viagra?

Including some oddity known as Annie Lennox who seems to think she has some to add some weight to the debate just because she can warble a few tunes adequately well.
Its a helluva long way to go for Piano lessons, Gus..are you back yet or still waiting for the Trans-Siberian Express?
Ask them if they're worried about Global Warming?

I hardly think they are worried about Global Warming half of them are as poor as church mice. Global Warming worries are confined to the affluent countries I fear who btw contribute the most to it so i expect it is only natural. The Ukraine has only two worries one is will Russia turn off the gas, and the other is will Russia turn off the gas. gus
